Project Manager for Decoration Workshops (Full-time)

Who we are
ART for ART is a subsidiary of the Austrian Federal Theatres and is one of the largest theatre service providers in Europe. In addition to the costume and decoration workshops, building technology and the ticket sales & information department, ART for ART also operates the Digital Technologies Service Centre (IT) as the central IT service provider for all companies of the Austrian Federal Theatres - the Vienna State Opera, the Burgtheater, the Volksoper Wien and the Vienna State Ballet.

We are looking for a full-time Project Manager for the decoration workshops in the Arsenal, starting 1 September 2026.

ART for ART Theaterservice GmbH is a subsidiary of the Austrian Federal Theatres and is one of the largest theatre service providers in Europe.

Our workshops produce decorations for the Vienna State Opera, the Burgtheater and the Volksoper Vienna as well as stage sets and decorations for renowned theatres, opera houses and events from all over the world.

Your Responsibilities:

Your area of responsibility includes the planning and management of the production of opera, ballet, and theatre set designs in our set construction workshops at the Vienna Arsenal. You will be the point of contact for the theatre companies and for other external clients from the arts and culture sector. You will manage the production process of theatre set designs from initiation to completion. As a project manager, you will be responsible for quality, cost, and time management.

Your qualifications for this varied role:

We expect a completed technical or design qualification, preferably in event technology, architecture, or stage design, as well as experience in workshop production management. You are a strong negotiator and able to communicate with personalities from the international art and culture scene on an equal footing. You have business administration knowledge, are proficient in MS Office and Auto CAD, and have a command of English.
